Swine Flu confirmed in Maine
According to the Maine CDC, Wednesday morning, three cases of H1N1 (swine flu)
were confirmed in Maine. All three people are adults and a recovering in their homes.
Two are from Kennebec County and one resides in York County.

Swine Flu cases in United States increasing
The human swine flu outbreak continues to grow in the United States and internationally. Today, CDC reports additional cases of confirmed swine influenza and a number of hospitalizations of swine flu patients. Internationally, the situation is more serious too, with additional countries reporting confirmed cases of swine flu. In response to the intensifying outbreak, the World Health Organization raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 4External Web Site Policy.. A Phase 4 alert is characterized by confirmed person-to-person spread of a new influenza virus able to cause “community-level” outbreaks.” The increase in the pandemic alert phase indicates that the likelihood of a pandemic has increased.

Randy said it was one of the hardest songs to sing and was a little pitchy. Kara did not feel that he was emotionally committed to the song. Paula said that she loved what he did with the song and that she felt an emotional connection. Simon said that it was the most believable performance of the night and that his performance was absolutely brilliant.

As of April 27, swine flu has killed 103 people in Mexico and spread to the United States, Europe and possibly other locations around the world.
President Barack Obama said Monday that the threat of spreading swine flu infections is a cause for concern but "not a cause for alarm" as the United States undertook close border monitoring to contain it.
Here are the CDC's for limiting your risk of catching the swine flu virus:
* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

Warner Bros. have officially released a new trailer for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". Clocking in at around two minutes and twenty seconds, the brand new trailer reels in many never-before-seen footage and is packed with tension, action and drama. Through it, a snippet of the duel between Harry and Draco is put out.

Melissa Huckaby arrested in Sandra Cantu slaying
A Sunday school teacher was booked early today on suspicion of murder and kidnapping in the slaying of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, whose body was found in a suitcase in an irrigation pond.
Melissa Huckaby has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapp...Sandra Cantu disappeared on March 27.
Melissa Huckaby, 28, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Friday after she drove to the Tracy Police Department to be interviewed. She was booked at 3:25 a.m. today at San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp, where she is being held without bail.

GM Segway Puma Car
Segway and GM have announced that they are developing a Personal Urban
Mobility and Accessibility vehicle, or Puma. The official site has pictures and
videos, but it looks like a bigger version of the familiar Segway scooter with a
cab on top.
The 300-pound prototype runs on a lithium-ion battery and uses Segway's
characteristic two-wheel balancing technology, along with dual electric
motors, and features vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication for
potentially reducing the number of accidents. No word on when or if this'll
actually go into production but it's expected to be priced at just 25%
that of a regular automobile. It's designed to reach speeds of up to 35
miles-per-hour and can run 35 miles on a single charge.
It's about a fifth of the size of a car and can seat two people. The
upright two-wheeled design allows the vehicle to make extremely tight
turns, making parking much simpler.

Kal Penn Suicide Death
Tonight’s House episode had a huge shocking twist that isn’t finished yet for anyone that watched it. It has to do with House’s Lawrence Kutner. The audience was asked to track down the rest of the story at fox.com/kutner after the episode. The problem is, you have to wait until Hawaii has had a chance to watch it before the website has more information. Read about it below, see photos and a video. Be warned … spoiler alert!
Kal Penn - House’s Lawrence Kutner
Tonight’s House took an ominous twist when the character played by Kal Penn didn’t show up for work. When Dr. Lawrence Kutner doesn’t show up for work, Dr. House sends Dr. Foreman (played by Peter Jacobson) and Dr. Hadley (also known as 13 and played by Olivia Wilde) to check out what’s going on. When they go to Kutner’s apartment, they find him laying in a pool of blood. It appears that Kutner has committed suicide by a self inflicted gunshot wound.

The entire episode has to do with the issue of suicide. Dr. House spends the episode trying to figure out why Kutner would kill himself. The other characters are a husband and wife, each trying to save the other by donating their organs to each other. In effect, committing suicide to save their spouses.
With the team focusing on properly diagnosing the sick couple trying to give each other organs, there is Kutner’s suicide looming in the background. House can’t figure out why Kutner would kill himself and concludes that it wasn’t suicide, but murder. While everyone else is at the funeral, House is going through Kutner’s apartment looking for clues to solve the puzzle of why he would kill himself … or to get clues about whether or not he was murdered.
Regardless of how Dr. House ends up diagnosing this, it looks pretty certain that Kal Penn is leaving House.
And there it is …. the mystery of Kutner’s death. Murder or suicide? We know that Dr. House will figure it out before its all said and done. At the end of the episode, viewers are asked to go to fox.com/kutner for the rest of the story. However, you won’t get the rest of the story until after the Hawaiian audience has a chance to see the show. Talk about a cliff hanger! There will be a lot of people on the east coast staying up late tonight!

He had a starring roles in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, The Namesake, Epic Movie and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.
But its Kutner’s death, not Penn’s, that’s the subject of this episode of House.

"I have to tell you the truth. This song was recorded by a father whose oldest daughter had just gotten married. It was very personal to me, and I didn't think other people would relate to it the way I did," he said. "So it was put on a greatest hits album as a bonus track. Mike Dungan, President of Capitol Records, called one day and told me it was gonna be a single. And I said, 'Go ahead, but ain't nobody gonna play it.' I'm glad I'm an idiot!"

Giant Sea Worm
Staff at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium, have captured a giant sea worm that had been terrorizing other aquatic life.
This 4-foot-long sea worm was devastating coral reef and terrorizing fish at an aquarium in Cornwall, southwestern England, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday. The creature, known as "Barry," devoured bait traps - hooks and all - and bit through a 20-pound fishing line before staffers finally managed to capture it. The worm was moved to its own tank.
The creature is covered with nasty bristles that sting and can cause permanent numbness in humans, the newspaper said.
"Tt really does look like something out of a horror movie," Matt Slater, the aquarium's curator, told the Mail. "It's over 4 feet long with these bizarre-looking jaws."

Alex Da Silva of "So You Think You Can Dance" Arrested
Los Angeles police have arrested a choreographer featured on the FOX television show "So You Think You Can Dance" on suspicion of sexually assaulting four of his dance students.
Officer Jason Lee says Alex Da Silva was taken into custody Saturday and held on $3.8 million bail.
Detectives say the alleged assaults occurred between May 2003 and March 28. The female accusers told police Da Silva lured them to his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys, used a ruse to get them into his bedroom and raped them.
It's not immediately known whether the 41-year-old Da Silva has retained an attorney. The voicemail for a phone number posted on his Web site was full and wouldn't accept messages.

North Korea Launches Rocket
SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea fired a rocket over Japan on Sunday, defying Washington, Tokyo and other world leaders who suspect the launch was cover for a test of its long-range missile technology. President Barack Obama warned the move would further isolate the communist nation.
Liftoff took place at 11:30 a.m. (0230 GMT) from the coastal Musudan-ri launch pad in northeastern North Korea, the South Korean and U.S. governments said. The multistage rocket hurtled toward the Pacific, reaching Japanese airspace within seven minutes, but no debris appeared to hit its territory, officials in Tokyo said.

American Idol winner David Cook back on tour
David Cook, last season’s “American Idol” winner, canceled two scheduled shows this week to deal with “family matters.”
No specifics were given on the “family matters,” but Cook’s brother, Adam, has been battling brain cancer. David Cook's representative told People magazine that Cook spent time with Adam last week.
The canceled shows were scheduled in New Hampshire and Connecticut, as part of his first tour, “The Declaration Tour,” running through October. The tour started in February to support his self-titled debut album.
He plans to hit the road again Thursday, according to his rep. Concert dates are currently scheduled through October.
